The Open Source Ecology project is developing open source industrial machines that can be made for a fraction of commercial costs, and they share their designs online for free. The goal of Open Source Ecology is to create an open source economy – an efficient economy which increases innovation by open collaboration. The Buddhist Geeks Farm is aligned with the goals of Open Source Ecology, and we will seek out opportunities for collaboration with them, especially with their [Open Building Institute](https://www.openbuildinginstitute.org/).

## Open Source Dharma

[Open Source Dharma](http://www.opensourcedharma.info) is a newly proposed open standard & network, whose aim is to encourage the flourishing of a transparent, collaborative, creative, & evolutionary ecosystem of dharma. Just like the Buddhist Geeks Farm, Open Source Dharma is one of the projects being incubated in the Buddhist Geeks Labs. Any teachings offered on The Farm will be released under an open license as free cultural works.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://farm.buddhistgeeks.org/farm/our-ideological-pillars/open-generosity.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
