## Open Building Institute

The [Open Building Institute](https://www.openbuildinginstitute.org/), which is part of the [Open Source Ecology](https://www.opensourceecology.org/) project, is an open source effort to make ecological, affordable housing widely available.  Their goal is to be able to build an ecologically sound 2 bedroom / 1 bath house, using mostly local materials, for < $25,000 USD.&#x20;
